For years, the heart of Purify Project’s work in Tanzania has been simple: help provide students with access to safe drinking water.
But clean water can be the beginning of something bigger.
As Purify Project has grown, so has our work alongside communities in Tanzania. Beyond the water purification systems installed at schools, additional projects are taking shape—projects focused on water quality, food production, sustainability and creating resources that can serve communities for years to come.
A Water Testing Laboratory Takes Shape
One of the most exciting projects currently nearing completion is a water testing laboratory in Tanzania.
The laboratory represents an important step forward in understanding and monitoring water quality locally. Rather than simply providing equipment, the goal is to help build the infrastructure necessary to support safe water over the long term.
Construction is nearing completion, and we’re excited to share more about the laboratory, the people who will operate it and the role it will play as the project moves forward.
From Clean Water to Food Production
Purify Project has also helped establish a fish hatchery in Tanzania.
And behind a project like this are people doing the work every day.
Recently, our team received video from Tanzania showing a woman preparing fish feed that will be used at the hatchery—a simple glimpse into a much larger effort happening on the ground.
It’s an important reminder that development isn’t only about buildings, equipment, or installations. It’s about giving people tools and resources that can continue producing value long after a project is completed.
